Donna Allen will be leading a coached session on Monday, April 22nd at 6:00 p.m. She will have a jumpers course set up for us. Donna says, “I would like to encourage all levels and abilities to come out to play. Since there are not many show ‘n’ go events in the area this is a good chance to get out in the ring with your dog and practice outside in a different environment.”
Thank you, Donna, for kicking off the season!
MHS has graciously offered to extend our use of the training center since our equipment is not yet in the outdoor ring. Contractually, our use of the training center goes through March. MHS is extending our use of the training center into April as follows:
Thursday April 4: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Saturday April 6: NOT AVAILABLE – rally trials
Thursday April 11: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Saturday April 13: 6:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m. (not available to CATS before 6:00)
We will, hopefully, be moved into the ring by then! If we get moved into the ring sooner, then these reserved dates/times will go back to MHS.
Registration is now open to CATS members for the CATS seminar weekend. This year we are pleased to have world class agility competitor and trainer, Julie Daniels, running the seminars. There is something for everyone available in the seminars offered, no matter what level your dog or what venue you compete in! Get your registration forms in as soon as possible to reserve your spot. Working slots that don’t fill by CATS members will be opened to the agility community after Feb 1st. Let’s fill all the spots with CATS members! Download the registration form below:

Finally a time and place has been set for the equipment move. Because of the Barrel racing session on Friday night, we have decided on Sat as the day the equipment will be moved. I have not received a great response to my begging for help. We will hire a few guys to help with the heavy stuff, but we really need club members to step up and help out getting the equipment in for the winter. We will be meeting at Kitty’s at 10:00am to move the last of the equipment out of there and will be down to MHS by 10:30 . If you arrive at MHS before we do, you can just start moving stuff over by the storage unit. We need to organize it as it goes in.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Come one, come all.
Starting tomorrow night I will be teaching Coached Run Thrus on Monday nights at
Muddy Paws Canine Center.
Every Monday night 6:30 -8:00 and each week will focus on a new venue. Tomorrow will be NADAC ‘s game of “Chances”. Not matter what level you are, there will be a course for you. Come try your luck at a different venue, it will be fun!!
Other weeks will be USDAA, CPE, Puppy and lower level Run Thrus… and many more.
If interested contact Doreen Lucius at Muddy Paws Canine Center. (802) 463-4778 or at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Don’t miss out in all the fun. Get down and get dirty at Muddy Paws
*Also, Kim Kennelly is teaching a handling class on Tues. nights as well. Ask Doreen about that.
Just a reminder about the activities this week in hopes that you will join us at some point. Thurs. night at 4:30pm we will be carving the pumpkins that say: Canine Agility Training Society
We have good food coming and hot cider, bring a dish to share or just come. Please join us because we have 43 to do!! (Out back by the ring) (Bring carving tools if you have them.)
If you can’t come on Thurs night then join us on Wed. at 6:30pm to gut pumpkins. I will set up a few courses in the ring and you can come for a Free Agility Session and in between runs, gut a pumpkin or two!!! It would really help us with the Thurs. night activities.
I have to deliver the pumpkins to the Central Square tower at 9:00am on Friday. Dana has offered to help me unload them in the square, but if anyone else is free we would appreciate help. Give me a call on my cell phone if you can help (603) 357-2307.
Once again I personally want to thank all of you for participating. Our name (CATS) will look great in the lights on Sat. night. 🙂
Pumpkin Festival 2012
Pumpkin carving at MHS and pot luck dinner
Thursday, Oct 18th, 4:30pm or anytime thereafter
Come one. Come all. Bring friends and family. Join the fun.
We would like to carve jack-o-lanterns spelling out
Canine Agility Training Society
to go up on the Central Square Tower.
That’s 45 pumpkins at least!
Also we thought we could do some agility equipment on the “space” (between the words) pumpkins such as an A-frame, a teeter, a dog walk, a tire, a paw, a bone….
Come carve a letter and the head of your own dog or be creative in another way. If you can’t make it, send a jack-o-lantern with a club member and be a part of it.
We will set up the tables and chairs at our ring. Bring something to share for dinner. The cost will be $3.00 a pumpkin, they will be at MHS, and we hope everyone will pay for at least two pumpkins to cover the cost. You can buy more if you want. I just need to know asap to order them. (Please bring your own carving tools).
Everyone please contact Cindy (email@example.com) to let her know whether you’re coming or will send a carved pumpkin. Will you come and have the time of your life?? Let’s end the summer with a bang-up good time! J

Because of the CPE event next weekend there will not be a membership meeting on Wed. Sept. 12th. Please come and help us with moving equipment, setting up and running of the event instead. Here is an e-mail from Judy with the schedule and what jobs are needed. Thanks for all your support.
Hi CATS members,
Next weekend (September 14, 15, 16) is our CPE trial. It is a big trial with almost 650 runs on Saturday and just over 600 runs on Sunday! I am preparing the worker schedules for the weekend.
This plea is for those of you not entered in the trial. Could you please check your schedule for next weekend and let me know what block of time (a whole day – or all 3 days even better) you could attend to help? Chris needs 3 people to help her at MHS at 5:00 on Thursday, and the rest of us are meeting at Kitty’s at 5:30. If you can only do one of the times, Thurs. or Sunday, we need more help on Sunday. Please send an email to either Judy or Cindy to let us know where you can help. Thanks for supporting the club that we all love!
Cindy and Leslie will need lots of help with setup on Friday at Wheelock Park. The rings need to be set, the equipment needs to be unloaded from the truck, EZ-Ups need to be set up, and the Show N Go needs to be run! There are many, many jobs to be done, and not all of them involve lifting heavy equipment, so please come and help.
SHOW N GO: If you did not already send a registration form to me for the Show N Go to be held on Friday starting at 2:00 p.m., it’s not too late! You can get the form from Page 2 of the CPE trial premium on the CATS web site (www.canineagility.org) and I will have forms at the trial to fill out. Come and test your knowledge of handling, AND your dog’s knowledge of the equipment in a trial environment. Great training for the agility team! Remember you can bring toys in the ring! (No food because of the trial happening the following 2 days). How will you use YOUR two minutes in the ring??!!
So please consider coming out to the trial to help your fellow CATS members get ready for our biggest trial of the year. We need you!
Please don’t reply to the list with your responses. Please email either myself (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Cindy directly. Thank you!!!!
CATS members are invited to attend these free coached run-thrus. Sessions will typically run 1-2 hours, depending on number of participants. In the event of severe weather, session will be rescheduled.
Help keep these sessions going…contact Kim at to coach a run-thru.
